Project objective:

The objective is to build up action-oriented capacities in occupational and environmental medicine as part of a specialist cooperation between the Institute of Occupational and Social Medicine at RWTH Aachen University Hospital and the Department of Biological, Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences (BEOHS) at the School of Public Health at the University of Ghana in order to be able to produce sound analyses of health risks, recommend alternative options for action and prepare fact-based political decisions. This will help Ghana to harness the potential of labour-intensive circular economy processes in an environmentally and socially responsible way in the medium term as a contribution to poverty reduction.
