Solar solutions for agriculture - Technology transfer

Despite its potential, Nigerian agriculture is often not very productive and offers only limited employment and income opportunities. The main reasons for this are the lack of know-how on possible improvements and sustainable solutions. Solar technology is an important approach to support and accelerate the process of optimisation. The use of solar drying, cooling, water pumps and presses, for example, is the most cost-effective, efficient and ecologically compatible solution and offers a profitable option in the long term. Furthermore, the use of solar solutions in agriculture has potential to improve and stabilise product quality. The aim of the project is therefore to provide Nigerian companies from the agricultural sector with needed expertise for the introduction of solar applications.
