Technology partnership for sustainable agriculture and training in northern Iraq
Primary tabs
Northern Iraq offers very good natural conditions for the cultivation of agricultural products with great potential for employment and income in the agri-food sector. Due to the violent conflicts, agricultural yields have fallen, agricultural infrastructure has been destroyed, investments have failed to materialise and know-how has been lost. The BLP project contributes to improvement with practice-oriented training and technology transfer through an innovation and technology partnership between the province of Dohuk and the state of Baden-Württemberg. The aim is to increase agricultural productivity in vegetable production and to develop marketing strategies through relevant training, as well as to improve career prospects for agricultural students.
