Establishment of a Bavarian-Tunisian Technology and Innovation Hub for Green Hydrogen

The very high production potential for renewable energies as well as the geographical proximity and infrastructural connection to the European gas grid form excellent prerequisites for Tunisia to serve European markets with green hydrogen in the future. Nevertheless, neither the institutional and economic prerequisites for the establishment of corresponding value chains are currently given, nor do key actors in the energy sector have exceptional technical competencies and practical experience.

Therefore, the aim of the project is to establish a Bavarian-Tunisian technology and innovation hub for green hydrogen. This hub advises and supports relevant actors from politics, industry and research on strategic partnerships, the establishment of an international network and the improvement of investment conditions in the field of green hydrogen promotion.

For this project, Bavarian engineering universities and research institutes as well as companies of the Hydrogen Alliance of Bavaria come together with relevant Tunisian actors of the green hydrogen sector to jointly advance the Tunisian sector. There is also a special focus on promoting women working in the field.
