Professional qualification for future specialists and managers for North Macedonia
Northern Macedonia is an official candidate for accession to the European Union. One of the prerequisites for accession are far-reaching transformation processes in the economy of the country. The lack of well-educated professionals, however, hinders sustainable planning and effective implementation of the necessary reforms.
Many university graduates have problems finding adequate jobs. At the same time, there is high youth unemployment in Northern Macedonia. One reason for these two factors is that the focus of education or studies is not oriented towards the needs of the local labour market and often only conveys theoretical knowledge. In addition, hardly any internships are offered at companies.
The lack of job opportunities leads to a lack of perspective as well as to migration movements, through which the country loses important junior staff and thus future potential. Therefore, the aim of the project is to enable a practice-oriented qualification of youths and young adults from North Macedonia in North Rhine-Westphalia/Germany. The aim is to individually strengthen the competences of the future skilled workers and managers.
