Qualification of Ethiopian vocational training specialists in the field of IT
The economic development of Ethiopia is hampered by a low level of education. Less than 50 % of the workforce in urban areas have an educational qualification. Moreover, educational institutions and companies do not cooperate sufficiently in the qualification of future skilled workers to ensure up-to-date, practice-oriented and needs-based training. Teachers in vocational education and training as well as in higher education are usually not sufficiently qualified to convey practice-relevant contents in their lessons. Another obstacle to economic development and investment is the poor IT structure of the Ethiopian market.
The BLP project combines these elements and qualifies vocational education and training specialists and managers in the field of IT.
