Qualification of vocational training specialists in the field of energy-efficient building automation

The population of India is growing rapidly. As a result, approximately 15 million young Indians enter the labour market every year. Despite an increased supply of apprenticeships, the growing number of school leavers is outstripping the capacity of the vocational education and training system. At the same time, the system does not have the necessary resources and skills to produce enough skilled workers of the required quality. This shortage of skilled workers hinders the sustainable economic growth of the country.

India and Germany cooperate closely in the field of vocational education and training. In this context, the development of skills in green sectors, such as e-mobility, energy efficiency and renewable energy, is seen as having particularly high employment potential. This also includes building automation, which is an important building block for improving the climate neutrality of buildings and has the potential to contribute to a better climate balance. Within the framework of the project, Indian vocational school teachers and vocational training specialists are qualified in the field of energy-efficient building automation.
